Kent+Karen = Engaged!

What is love? Some say love is a friendship set on fire, a master key to the door to happiness, or as a brilliant writer, Mark Twain, once said "Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired." Although everything above does make sense, how do we, photographers, see love and distinguish it from everything else? Take a look at these images and see if your answer would be the same as ours at the end of the post.

Our answer: It's that deep, sultry, the "I am drowning" (in a good way) look in their eyes when they look at each other.

Kent and Karen are the perfect example of people in LOVE! We met up for their engagement session a couple of weeks ago and it was starting to rain. Me and Anna were ready to call the session off due to weather conditions, but these two suggested that a little rain never hurt anyone and they were ready to shoot no matter what! Are we glad we listened!?!? The sun came out exactly one hour before the sunset giving us a chance to work in the best light of the day! We hope you enjoyed this little sneak peak into our session and as always please feel free to leave us a comment below. We love comments!

Alex+Maria: "The Day After" Shoot

Recently we have been getting more and more inquiries about our “the day after” shoots, and we couldn’t help but notice that these sessions are becoming more and more popular with other photographers. How does the idea of cruising around the city with nothing but time, our creativity and cameras sound to you? Good? Well, here are several reasons for having a session like this: the pressure of the wedding day is long gone - there neither are no time constrains nor is there a limit on locations - you (the bride) don’t have to obsess about keeping your dress immaculately clean, which allows for some creative posing - plus, who wouldn’t have a desire to get all pumped up again and wear a wedding dress one more time? I totally would, and I did, and I’d love to do it again :) Also, by that time you are used to being in front of the cameras and it greatly shows in the created imagery.

Just because we call it “the day after” shoot, it doesn’t mean that we have to do it the next day. The session can be scheduled at any point in time, like in this case with Alex and Maria (post-honeymoon). So, if you want to take advantage of the beautiful environment away from the ceremony/reception area, but in your wedding attire, and create some awesome images, then this session is perfect for you.
Shoot us an email @ info at teamyuphoto dot com and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you.

We shot Alex&Maria in the heart of Boston with the idea to get some beautiful images that reflect some more of their personalities, their love for each other and for our fabulous city, of course.

Mmmm...

I love the feel of this one!

Huge thanks to our friend Doug for being the best reflector holder and simply a cool photographer :) Click here to check his images from the shoot.

Alex+Maria

Last month we were invited to our friend's wedding. That means we were actually attending a wedding as guests and were given a rare chance of enjoying the celebration from behind the table :) Well, guess what? Shortly after the beginning of the reception we both ended up grabbing our cameras from the trunk of our car and the rest is history ;) Is there something like Wedding Photography Addicts Anonymous?

Check out gorgeous and extremely talented Melina, on my opinion, the best performer around here. I've known her for years, and I've seen her dance once or twice a week on a regular basis. Believe it or not, she still blows my mind each and every single time I see her do her magic.

How about that?

Mike decided to get in on the action!

Family

Surprisingly, we both picked this shot as one of our favs ! Total escape into the music :)

Just married!

Stay tuned to some images from their "Day after" shoot. Actually more like a week after :)

Brian + Kathleen

Since we didn't get lucky enough with the weather on Brian and Kathleen's engagement session, all of us truly waited for some sunshine on the day of the wedding. Well, in spite of all our hopes, the weather surprised us once again with a heavy downpour and with that special kind of rain that didn't stop all day. Brian is a Boston firefighter, so I guess water in this case is a great symbol for this couple, at least that is what I tend to believe. Moreover, in our culture people get excited about the rain during weddings, because it symbolizes prosperity in the future of the couple.
Whatever the weather ended up like, nothing could stand on our way, we were determined to have a great Irish celebration. And we all did. If you know Brian&Kat, you'll agree that these two are a great match. The ceremony was so emotional for us, the dance floor at the reception was packed and we saw some incredible & wild moves we haven't seen before :)
Here are some of the images, enjoy!

Kathleen has an amazing personality, and when you are next to her, you just get covered by simplicity of happiness head to toes.
She always has a smile on her face, she laughs, she truly enjoys life. With Brian that is :)

Mr&Mrs J! Congratulations to both of you and to your families again, and thank you for sharing this special day with us.
Can't wait to hear about Hawaii!
